Delivering Outstanding Eye Care

WELCOME TOLawrenceville Eye Care

Our practice began in the 1920s with JS Wilson and was passed down through the generations to his great-grandson, Dr. Ronald Wilson, who joined the practice in 1971. Dr. Ronald Wilson and Dr. Larry Greidinger successfully managed the practice until Dr. Wilson’s retirement in 2018. Dr. Greidinger then continued with his associate, Dr. Apoorva Jinka-Patel, who is excited to succeed him and carry the practice into future generations upon Dr. Greidinger's retirement in 2024.

      • How food can be medicine on Thanksgiving. (Choose wisely!):

🥬 Leafy Greens (Spinach, Kale) – Packed with lutein and zeaxanthin to protect against macular degeneration.
🥔 Sweet Potatoes – Full of vitamin A to keep your eyes moist and fight dry eye symptoms.
🦃 Turkey – Rich in zinc, which supports overall eye health and helps prevent oxidative stress linked to glaucoma.
🎃 Pumpkin – Loaded with vitamins A, C, and E. These antioxidants help lower overall inflammation.
🍒 Cranberries – High in vitamin C, great for supporting blood flow to the eyes and prevents cataract progression.

Pro Tip: Staying hydrated (yes, even with water!) also helps reduce dry eye symptoms.

Please Note: Our office will be closed on Thursday, 11/28, and Friday, 11/29 for Thanksgiving. We’ll reopen and resume seeing patients on Monday, 12/2/24.

        Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

      • 🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

Join us in welcoming Dr. David Mostafavi, our new board-certified ophthalmologist, to the team!

Dr. Mostafavi is the founder of Mostafavi Eye Princeton (@mostafavieyeprinceton). He specializes in cataract surgery, uveitis, general ophthalmology, and resident education. He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He also currently serves as Chairman of Ophthalmology at Richmond University Medical Center.

Dr. Mostafavi completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate and was named administrative chief resident by the faculty. While a resident, he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical society, an honor given to only a few residents at an academic institution. After residency, Dr. Mostafavi extended his training with a fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary under the guidance of Michael Samson M.D. and Sanjay Kedhar M.D., both recognized leaders in the fields of ocular inflammation and corneal disease. Dr. Mostafavi completed his medical school training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

In addition to supervising a level one trauma center for ophthalmic emergencies, Dr. Mostafavi allocates one day a week to teach the latest techniques in cataract and glaucoma surgery to ophthalmology residents and fellows.

We are thrilled & grateful to have Dr. Mostafavi’s years of expertise to our practice starting March 2024.

      • 🤰✨ Embracing the beautiful journey of pregnancy and all its wonders, including the fascinating changes in vision. Here are a few common vision changes that some pregnant individuals might encounter:

Dry Eyes: Hormonal fluctuations can lead to changes in tear production, causing dry eyes or discomfort. Luckily, we specialize in dry eyes (@dryeyeroom) so we can address it right away!

Blurred Vision: Fluid retention and hormonal changes can affect the thickness and curvature of the cornea, leading to temporary blurriness. This can happen soon after delivery too!

Prescription Changes: Some individuals may notice changes in their eyeglass or contact lens prescriptions during pregnancy. It’s recommended to wait until after pregnancy for a permanent prescription change, as these changes may revert postpartum.

Contact lens intolerance: This can be due to prescription changes or dry eyes.

Puffy Eyelids: Fluid retention can cause puffiness or swelling around the eyes.

Melasma: These are flat or fleckle-like spots on your face (cheeks, nose, chin, above the upper lip and the forehead). These pigment changes can fade with time, or worsen with UV rays.

It’s important to note that these changes are often temporary, and vision typically returns to normal after childbirth. However, if you experience severe or persistent vision changes, it’s crucial to consult with an eye doctor for a thorough examination.

To set up a consultation, call (609) 219-9000 and visit us at 4 Princess Road, Suite 202, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648
